Shakespeare today

Shakespeare works has a great influence in many modern books and stories today. He was an author that wrote comedy and tragedy, and theater and poetry as well. That is why it seems that he set up the base where many writers, going from his contemporaries to modern writers, has based their works. For example, the deep exploration he made about the topic of revenge in many of his works such as The Tempest or Hamlet was really modern and very original. Shakespeare transformed a barely used topic before and developed one of the most common topics used nowdays by authors that find in Shakespeare works a great inspiration. But not only there are Shakespeare influences in books, but also in televison. One of the clearest examples is the TV series called The Simpsons since some episodes are based in stories Shakespeare created, such as Hamlet or King Lear. The list could go on and on in a never ending list of influences. This makes it clear that Shakespeare is an author that will never disappear from Literary History.

Fear of not being loved

I fear the world's doom will come
And I have no one to share that moment with,

Compulsory Writing: My name is Sir Gawain...

My name is Sir Gawain. I am studying English philology because English literature and culture has always been my passion. I started studying English when I was just a kid. That is why I have always been good at studying English because, in my opinion, the sooner you start studying a language the easier it gets. My parents were really concerned about this as they thought learning such an important language as English was crucial for my future. When I was a child I did not care too much about this matter but now that I am older I have noticed that being able to talk in another language is not only important to look for a job since it also gives you the possibility to communicate with other people, to discover new cultures and to understand them and even to appreciate them. Knowing a language opens your mind to a whole new world you did not know it existed.

As a conclusion, being able to talk in a different language gives you the possibility to have a wide open mind, that is a matter of fact.
